    Odds and Ends

There are a few odds and ends I need to take care of here on the blog.

First off, we've had two fund-raisers recently. One was at the end of January at Joe's Crab Shack. It was awesome, and my thanks go out to IV and Travis for putting it together. The other was at Chick-fil-a this past week and thanks go out to Chazity for putting that together. Cole wasn't able to attend Chick-fil-a, but Dalynn and Logan did, and they had a wonderful time.

We've recently been borrowing a friend's Wii, and let me tell you, you haven't lived til you've seen a 2 year old play Wii Golf. Cole's not so much interested in his handicap as he is in smashing the ball, throwing his hands in the air and yelling "TOUCH DOWN!" Once you're something like 10 over, the game automatically surrenders your turn, so Cole's shooting about a 30 on the front 3.

I'm working the angle that the Wii is good for Cole's rehab, and so far, so good. It's just a side-benefit that I might get to play Metroid and Zelda at the same time... It's really all about Cole, I promise.

Last, but not least, Dalynn and I got to take a night off and head to an adult party hosted by the Noblemen. They had their Red Hot Valentine's Ball on February 8 (this past Saturday) and Dalynn and I were in attendance! It was a wonderful night, with lots of dancing and fun. We even got to spend the night at the Cavalier Hotel (where the ball was hosted). We both got all gussied up (Dalynn in a smoking red dress and me in a tux) and looked very nice. Thanks go to the Noblemen, my Uncle John and my Mom for facilitating all of that.

Well, that wraps up this post. Catch you around later.

    Another Fund Raiser for Cole

Where: Joe's Crab Shack, 3333 Waterside Dr. Norfolk, Va. (in the Waterside Mall)
    When: January 24th, 2008 from 5 - 10 pm

Joe's manager, IV Miller, who's son Charlie is also a cancer kid at CHKD, has kindly organized a fund raiser for Cole. 10% of all the proceeds they take in that day when someone orders with a flyer (which we'll be handing out at the door) will go to Cole's treatment, via the Noblemen.

I have to say, though, that I'm looking forward to it most of all as a chance to see Dalynn pick crab once again. She's a world-class crab picker, and she's amazingly fast at eating crab. You should come on out just for that! I'm sure we can get a crab picking race going or something. My money's on Dalynn!

    Donate to Cole

It's weird to be putting this up, quite honestly, but a lot of folks have asked how they can donate to Cole's care, so here it is. We're going to be taking donations through a local charity called The Noblemen. 100% of any donations through them will be given to us, so you need not worry that we're not getting it all.

The Noblemen do noble work in and of themselves, so don't hesitate to check them out, also. Good group of guys.

    Here's the donation info:

    1) – Pay online through the Noblemen website

    http://www.thenoblemen.org/support/

This will direct you to a paypal.com site specifically for the Noblemen.

After you have entered your credit card information, a second page will appear. On that page put Cole Rollins in the section that says "Add special instructions for the Merchant". If you do not put Cole Rollins in this section, it will not go to the Rollins family.

    2) – Mail checks to:

    The Noblemen

    PO Box 418

    Va Beach, VA 23458

In note section, state that money is for Cole Rollins.

If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. You can leave your questions in the comments section if you wish, or you can contact Travis Jones, who has volunteered to handle all of this for us. Here is his contact info:
